Manchester United have officially confirmed the signing of Cameroon international Bryan Mbeumo from Brentford in a deal worth up to £71 million.
The 25-year-old winger has signed a five-year contract at Old Trafford, with an option to extend by a further year.
Mbeumo becomes one of the club’s most expensive acquisitions, following an impressive Premier League campaign in which he scored 20 goals.
Speaking to United’s official website, Mbeumo described the transfer as a childhood dream come true.
“As soon as I knew there was a chance to join Manchester United, I had to take the opportunity to sign for the club of my dreams,” he said.
“I’m determined to reach another level here under Ruben Amorim and to challenge for the biggest trophies.”
United’s Director of Football, Jason Wilcox, hailed the attacker’s consistent performance in recent seasons, stating: “Bryan’s goals and assists record in the Premier League is exceptional.
“His belief in our project and determination to join confirmed he was the right fit for the culture we are building.”
Mbeumo will join the rest of the squad for their pre-season tour of the United States, where preparations for the 2025/26 campaign under manager Ruben Amorim are already underway.
