Carlo Ancelotti sentenced to one year imprisonment over tax fraud

Carlo Ancelotti, the Brazilian head coach and former Real Madrid manager, has been sentenced to one year in prison for tax fraud.
Ancelotti was accused of failing to declare income from image rights in 2014, resulting in a tax evasion of over £833,000 (€1,062,079).
He was sentenced to one year in prison and fined £86,000.
Ancelotti claims he didn’t intentionally commit tax fraud and blamed Real Madrid’s payment system for the issue.
His defense team may argue that he complied with tax laws and that the structures used were legitimate.
Notably, Spain has been cracking down on tax evasion cases involving high-profile individuals, including football stars like Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo.
