Landlord behind kidnap of deceased AAUA students passes away

The Ondo State Police Command has confirmed the death of Oladele Femi, the landlord accused of orchestrating the gruesome murder of two students of Adekunle Ajasin University, Akungba-Akoko (AAUA).

Femi, popularly known as “Tallex,” reportedly died in the hospital after developing a strange illness while in police custody. His death was confirmed on Saturday by the command’s spokesperson, DSP Olushola Ayanlade.

“Yes, he is dead. He had been under medical supervision since his arrest and had been in and out of the hospital. He passed away yesterday,” Ayanlade told journalists.

The late landlord was at the centre of the investigation into the disappearance and murder of two AAUA students, John Abba and his female friend, Eloho Okah, who were declared missing on June 20, 2025.

According to police reports, Femi, who was Abba’s landlord, confessed to masterminding their abduction and subsequent killing. The decomposing body of Okah has since been recovered, while search efforts are ongoing to locate Abba’s remains.

In a further twist to the case, Ayanlade revealed that two additional suspects, identified as Kola and Michael, have been arrested for allegedly withdrawing N800,000 from Abba’s bank account while the victims were held captive. Investigations revealed that the money was transferred from the victim’s account during the period of their disappearance.

The police also confirmed the recovery of a Lexus RX 350 SUV belonging to the late Abba from one of the arrested suspects.
